She and I emailed each other a few times a couple years ago. She was on the West Coast of Florida at the time, not too far from one of our offices that I used to travel to regularly. Unfortunately I found out about her being there after I stopped traveling to that office. And speaking of Florida. I retire in 370 days. August 20, 2007 I will have exactly 30 years (and zero days) with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. I will not be in my office on August 21, 2007. Instead I plan to be moving to Florida where I want to teach Biology 100 in a community college anywhere along the coast from Daytona and Tampa south to Key West. I think I can do more to help protect the earth by teaching people about life than I can working for a resource management agency and especially given the current administration. Having only a Masters I cant get into a large University so I'll settle for firing up Community College students about the earth. So, after August 21, 2007 you'll all have a place to crash, drink beer, and eat brats when you escape the visciousness of Wisconsin winters and head south to the land of Jimmy Buffett's "clear skies and ultraviolet rays." The first winter I lived in the Bahamas I told myself that I would never ever ever live in really cold climates again. Wasting away on the coast of Florida will be a great way to go out...not only with a bang but with a hell of a sun tan also.

Ah Jean, my dear old friend. You laid a big one on me after Cameron scored a basket. If I can find the old Echo from that year I'll bring it to the next reunion and show you where you made reference to us "getting so excited" that night.
And of course, given my kissing abilities, I'm shocked SHOCKED that you dont remember!
