Posted by keith Today I have a repertoire of 30 minutes of memorized material that I use in classes to entertain kids. I don't think kids get enough of that sort of thing, and it's fun for me to do. I get real dramatic with some of it and the kids eat it up.

I remember having to do that, but I'm not sure who the teacher was. I do remember having to memorize quite a bit of stuff in Mr. Voskuil's English class, but I can't remember just what. He made it a bit easier because he would provide the first word of each line - he had us write it out, I don't remember having to recite anything aloud. It was during his class that I discovered that I enjoyed memorizing things.
