Sheryl E. DeMatteis, nee Miller, passed away, suddenly, on May 2, 2007, following knee replacement surgery. She was a resident of Villa Park, Illinois, and a 1963 graduate of Cameron High School. She is preceded in death by her most beloved husband of many years, Mario DeMatteis, and was also preceded in death by 6 siblings.
Sheryl had four wonderful children: Derek, Steven (Jenny), Joseph (Melissa), and Amy (Joseph), and the joy of her life was her grandson, Lucas, age 3, son of Steve and Jenny.
Sheryl was the loving sister of Peggy (Jean) Reed, Gretta (Gilbert) Parent, Dorothy (John) Daymont, her brother, Richard (Lois) Miller, Beverly (Glenn) Berger, Barbara (William) Jahnke, Judy Goodwin. Sheryl was the beloved Aunt of many nieces and nephews, and had many other relatives. We all miss her dearly and the light she put in our hearts and lives will never go out. She loved baseball and football, and was actually a huge sports fan. She was a fantastic cook, and a successful secretary for many years.
A site for St. Jude's Children's Research Center, honoring Sheryl, has been established by her nephew, Corey Jahnke, and his wife, Tonya, of Cameron. Click here, or copy & paste, to go to the site and read more about Sheryl: http://www.stjudeheroes.org/site/TR?px=1138062&pg=personal&fr_id=3020
