I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only person here who's ever heard of Jeff Vogel. He's an independent game designer, developer, and programmer who releases small-scale, indie RPGs at a rate of one about every nine months. His company- Spiderweb Software- made games for the Mac when nobody else did, and they're best known for the Avernum and Geneforge series. Jeff himself is a really interesting guy, who among other things has written a lot of (now-outdated) general advice for writing and marketing shareware games, occasionally runs a humor site, and has written a series of articles for IGN (which we discussed at some length over on Space Butler when they were released).
Needless to say, I think the man's pretty awesome.
I'm making this long-winded post to point out that he has recently started a blog. He's a good writer, and he's got a lot of interesting things to say about shareware/indie games, particularly where the business aspects of running a shareware/indie company are concerned- you should go over and give it a read!
