Cool, I shall have to look around for a few of those things.
I have found some maps, but am unable to draw out any route that would lead to the grave robbers.
At this point, things on floor 2 and basement don't immediately annhilate me like they used to, so might be nice to wander in those places a bit and get some better loot.

: I actually stumbled across the jewel quest on
: my own in my wanderings- fortunate for me, I
: suppose. I haven't finished the graverobber
: quest yet, either.
:
: From what I understand, you have to go up to
: level 2 and then back down to level 1- I
: assume this is through the passage in the
: north part of the dungeon rather than the
: one near the casino, since the one near the
: casino seems to be a fairly elaborate dead
: end.
:
: I did break into the casino storeroom and
: get a key, though, and I'm trying to do the
: pain-in-the-ass "recover the family
: heirloom" quest.
:
: Incidentally, something I noticed: If you
: walk into a wall, normally there's a 'bump'
: sound, but there will be none if you walk
: into a wall with a secret door. This should
: make hunting them down a little easier; I've
: found that most of the 'closet mazes' seem
: to have at least one.
:
: Latest discoveries: There's a third-level
: mage spell that does 10-20 damage to all
: targets. This is really very vicious and
: will wreck most enemy targets on the first
: and second floors. If you're willing to risk
: venturing down there, the enemies in the
: basement leave pretty good loot as well-
: I've found a lot of Claymores, Longbows, and
: Kris knives around that area (I still
: reccomend saving after every battle down
: there). There's also a Kris in a secret room
: right near the stairway down from the 1st
: floor.

: Yeah, found the second way up to level 2
: which
: also doesn't seem to lead to anything
: useful. I just figured out (thru reading)
: how to get the Jewel Quest done...BUT I
: CAN'T EVEN EFFING FIND THE GODDAM GRAVE
: ROBBERS!!
:
: THERE'S NO WAY TO GET TO THE LITTLE ROOM
: THEY ARE IN!!
:
: I HAVE PRINTED OUT SOME MAPS AND TRIED
: TRACING MY WAY THRU THEM, AND i CAN'T FIND
: ANY ####ING WAY TO GET TO THE MOTHERHUMPING
: SONS-A-b###hES!!

: Well, just for reference, my party is:
:
: L4 Warrior w/ Battleaxe, Wood Shield, Steel
: Helm, Platemail
: L3 Priest/L1 Warrior w/ Flail, Wood Shield,
: Chainmail
: L3 Theif w/ Longbow, Leather Helm, Leather
: Armor
: L3 Mage w/ Quarterstaff, Leather Helm, Robe
:
: The theif and the mage both spent most of
: their exp buying up various abilities
: (Disarmament/Lock Picking on the Theif,
: Ancient Languages on the Mage). I generally
: stay in the two in the front/two in the back
: formation with the Warrior and Cleric in the
: front.
:
: With this party, I can survive with some
: luck on the second floor, particularly near
: the casino, but the enemy parties in the
: basement floor still own me pretty hard.
: I've explored about 2/3 of the first floor
: (A chunk of the bottom third of the map and
: most of the top third) and bits and pieces
: of the second and basement. I've clocked
: about 3 hours, but that's deceptively low
: because I tend to reset if one of my
: characters gets killed rather than pay to
: revive them.
:
: As for general strategy, it sounded earlier
: like you didn't have a mage- you might want
: to reroll to include one in your party, as
: the first-level spell that puts enemies to
: sleep is very effective on the first floor
: and pretty effective on the second as well.
: I've been using it pretty extensively (in
: lieu of the fire spell they start with), and
: it's saved me more times than I want to
: think about. Enemy parties on the second
: floor give about twice as much experienc as
: the ones on the first floor, and if you stay
: in the area near the casino and save
: frequently it should be a decent way to
: grind your way up.
:
: If you don't have the
: "Disarmament" skill on your theif,
: it may not be a bad idea to skip chests
: (particularly if they have the poison needle
: trap on them- you can figure out what kind
: of trap a given chest has by the item list
: that pops up when you inspect it). The loot
: on the first floor isn't honestly that good,
: and the traps can hurt a lot.
:
: If you haven't figured out yet, the Scrap
: Metals you find on the first floor cast the
: first-level single-target attack spell on an
: enemy.
:
: If you're saving frequently, you may want to
: reload if any of your characters die.
: Reviving them is expensive, and can be a
: long-term drain on your finances.
:
: What do you mean about not having armor with
: weapons? Some of them are two-handed and
: will prevent you from carrying a shield, but
: AFAIK none of them invalidate armor...
:
: How much of the first floor have you
: explored? Did you do the Moonlight Jewel
: quest? Did you find the second way up to
: floor 2?

: How much do you have to freaking build up
: before anything off the first floor doesn't
: like...TOTALLY ####IN PROSECUTE YOU??
:
: I'm sick and tired of the low, shitty EXP
: and gold of the first floor, but anywhere
: other than the first floor, and the bastards
: totally ####in prosecute me!! What the shit
: is this??
:
: Can I have some ####in strategy help here or
: something?? This is really beginning to
: piss me off...over 5 hours gameplay time,
: and I can barely leave the first floor!!!
:
: I can't get decent weapons or armor, I keep
: getting killed and having to revive...or
: every time I get a good weapon, it won't
: ####in let me have armor with that weapon or
: WTF, I don't know but this is beginning to
: royally piss me off, because i don't have a
: ####ing clue what I ought to be doing, and I
: am sick of back and forth, back and forth on
: the first floor...it's boring my ass off...I
: want to start going other places, but, every
: time I do, the ####ing game kicks my ass!!
