Well, I'm not really that willing to dismiss a game out-of-hand because I don't like the designer, but whatever.
One of the reasons that I like to try games that get critically panned is that I'm way more willing than most players to accept a game that's got a couple good/interesting ideas in spite of other flaws. If it were just graphical issues in the port, I'd be a lot more willing to keep playing the game... The rant above, in fact, has more to do with bad demos/ports than it does with The Last Remnant itself.
I guess I kind of naturally recoil from this kind of comment, since it seems to be a kneejerk reaction based on the 'trappings' of the game rather than the game itself. It's not about not liking The Last Remnant because it's got sticky controls and a wierd battle system, it's about not liking The Last Remnant because Square is popular so everything they do sucks and it's hip to make fun of the lead designer, who (admittedly) misses more often than he hits and seems to be a couple steps out-of-phase with the game-playing public.
