I guess I'm still not sure exactly what you're talking about. The years since the Square-Enix merger in 2003 have seen the releases of Dragon Quest 8, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, Dragon Quest Swords, Dragon Quest IV DS, Dragon Quest V DS, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker in the US and the announcements of Dragon Quest VI DS, Dragon Quest 9, and Dragon Quest 10 with TBA release dates. Even counting the ones that have already been released, that's an average of one new Dragon Quest game a year in the US- significantly better than the series fared under Enix for most of the 90s. Who's giving the series the "Shit on a stick" treatment again?
Compare this to the release schedule for any of Square's other properties that aren't Final Fantasy- Dragon Quest does as well or better than most of them in terms of "attention".
No, it's not as big as Final Fantasy, but consider this: I really liked Einhander. Consider yourself lucky that your pet series sees a yearly release.

: In the last few years, there has been a new
: "mainline" Dragon Quest game and-
: thus far- two "enhanced" remakes
: of older games in the series, one of which
: has never been released in the US before.
: There is a third enhanced-remake and two
: additional mainline titles on the way.
: Compare this against many of Square's other
: franchises, like Front Mission or SaGa or,
: yes, even Chrono Trigger.
:
: I guess I just don't really see where you're
: coming from with your complaints. True, DQ
: doesn't get as much attention as FF, but I'd
: hardly call the litany of DQ games the
: "shit-on-a-stick" treatment.

: Until recently, shit-on-a-stick is exactly
: what DW/DQ got from Square. And, still,
: there's a hell of a lot more attention given
: to FF than DW/DQ, which pisses me off, since
: DW/DQ is by far the superior of the two
: series.
:
: When they remake 1,2, and 3...as well as 7
: for the DS...THEN, maybe I'll see it
: different.
