: I would hope he does not do that!

Unfortunately, Indo's pretty much confirmed on IRC that DW4:R is dead. Largely because many of us there have complaints about it (mostly the direction of the story) that he doesn't really want to address. It's quite simple, really: Either he makes a few changes so we'll like the game better, or he leaves it as it is, but accepts that it's not our type of game, and stops insisting that we like it. It's clear that he has fans elsewhere (like, uh, *here), and we've made it as clear as we can that we liked the game on most other fronts... So, whichever way he chose would've been fine with us, but he chose to do neither and just cancel the game. Sad.
He constantly complains that he's "a failure as a writer", and "has no fans". Why he chooses to ignore everyone *here*, who *likes* the game, I don't know. He puts *way* too much stock into what I think; he seems to think I'm some sort of internet celebrity (I'm not; not even remotely), and apparently, the more "popular" he believes a person is, the more he takes their word as the gospel. Yet, even my attempts to get him to *not* can DW4:R have fallen short. Bottom line: I had my issues with the game, but in no way, shape, or form is it "irreconcilably bad", as he seems to have come to the conclusion that it is... and worse, believes (incorrectly) that *we* all see it the same way.
That said, he's sorta half-working on a DW3-inspired RM2K game, where he's attempting to make the game more open, and less story-based... Sounds promising, especially with his detailed DW3-esque class system... yet, unfortunately, from what he's discussed with us on IRC, it sounds like it's gonna use largely the same overall depressing theme as DW4:R, just not directed at the protagonists instead. So... coming from someone who suffers from depression (and consequently doesn't like to deal with depressing stories), I can't say I expect to *love* it... Meh... But we'll see.
