Amber Alert? But No Station Is Live To Give Information

So the other night when we had the Amber Alert. Billboards on the highway said to tune to local radio for more information. There is actually LIVE local radio on at 9:30 at night in Kansas City???? Huh??? Are there any stations live anymore? Seems the FCC needs to figure this out the next time there is an Amber Alert and 99% of the stations are satellite or voice tracked.
