Well I'm amused that I made so much sense as to demoralize the entire industry. Actually no. The big move happend when the country stations were fingerpointing one weekend after sidewalk chalking and spraypainting outside Kemper Arena.
IT was bad for business. I'd been in here for years before that. Naw, if I was such a crank, there'd not been a problem. But the problem is, radio companies can't control their people and too many salesmen were in here posting during the daytime and not out selling.
As usual, someone will point it at me, but the fact is, it was radio peoples' misbehavior for what they were SAYING, not for what they were READING! You're a part timer, they're not going to tell you SHIT! If I know you, you were the first to raise my name, trying to get a leg up with them.
Remember all that crap about which mgr was banging which salesgirl? I didn't have anythign to do with that. Or whether this sports guy was gay or a wifebeater, or whatever. That was all inside baseball stuff that was very bad for business.
And one more thing. Ya wanna know who trashes you Ask your lawyer to file a sopoena for a DOLLAR and get the ISP's. If a guy commits libel on company time, that company is at serious risk and today, companies just don't want their employees running off at the mouth putting their company's at legal liability. And if a crime gets committed as a result of something in here, well you can bet the original poster and all likely suspects will have knocks on their doors by the cops before the close of the next business day. If those knocks are at the radio station, well so much the worse.
Remember the object of the game is to stay OUT of court, not to push ur luck. I'm very surprised some sports and weather people havent sought damages from some deep pockets in this town. Maybe thats what got you people forbidden to write in here, especially on company time.

And ya know what? it doesnt really matter! Radio as we know it is history. I bet in two years, there won't hardly be any live and local on music radio. Darla will be gone, replaced by another satellite delayed show like on KCMO.
They're gonna go for CHEAP! I've said it. Youv'e said it. Jerry's said it. And everyone who has badmouthed Wilks and his jet and the Susquehanna sale, and yada yada yada.
None of that was about rman. That was all inside baseball. Same shit that goes on over in the TV room but its petty shit is mostly weather interns and deskers.
This room needs to go back to posting IP addresses and it'll be much more orderly, like the midkansas room.
I got outed by my ip address. I've id'd midkansas users who also work THIS room by their IP addresses.
I expect the only one who knows who's really dissing whom is the system operator. Who knows who he works for...but I expect at least one local broadcasting company knows. And is paying the $30 a month to run this room.
