If you were really any good at sales, Jim, you could get hired in a heartbeat by any of the local radio corporations.
Lord knows, they're stuck with hiring most anybody willing to try it who dresses nicely and seems hungry enough. So you'd be quite the FIND. But youre not working in radio. WHY, Jim? You don't want to deal with their pressures to perform, or you just can't handle the pace they require?
Understand. I would rather go back to the Army's basic training than have to deal with radio sales the way it must surely be today!
Which is why I find it curious that you'd diss today's radio salespeople. It must be a bittch meeting the daily requirements by corporations running radio today. From what I'd gather of today's radio sales demands, I'd expect NOBODY but the senior people with the best account lists would stay in it...and would in fact be looking for a better gig within 30 days of going to work for a radio station!
Nother reason why I have no interest in going back to square ONE to be an introductory sales person fresh out of high school!
