Oh I think youre way too quick to jump to conclusions for a guy in academia.
You've always piqued my interest.. always something Catholic, like at the Key or the local Cath station.
Im not a cradle Catholic but a converted one. Not really into the dogma of the Church.
Fact is ten years ago, my "What TV stations Don't Want to Know", which I still have on my website, was often used by j schools. Northwestern, even. That was a long time ago, but frankly, local TV news hasn't changed much. Still superficial.
I always respect someone who teaches J school, but if youre so petty that you'd diss ME, with my motivation and dedication to teaching, then I'm not sure how much respect I'd have for you, Monkman.
We can diss the Thompsons of the world for their ignorance, but I'd expect that J school professors would be much more dedicated to truth and education than you appear to be.
Frankly, I'm disappointed in you that you claim to be a j school instructor. I'd expect you to be more ethicly pure. And way less petty than you appear to be in this room, specially related to me.
Go check my website and the "What TV stations don't want to know" and contrast your thinking with others around the country who did indeed make their students review my ten year old site.
The problem remains as it's always been... journalism doesn't rise to the ethical zenith that it once did!
