Oh claudia, that is so draconian and white wing.
Fact is we DO need to ration care. we simply can't afford twenty thousand dollars in health care to buy a few months for our feeble, elderly. I put both my parents to bed. Neither of them wanted to fight that hard. They were ready. Were tired. Were't having that much fun in the nursing home.
My dad very clearly said he'd rather put his grandson through college than live a few more months flat on his back. he was a pretty smart guy and I took those statements to make decisions when he no longer could.
You'll be facing that too, one day. Sigh. It does suck all right. But it's what children do when it's time for their parents to check out of the hotel of life.
