I'd like to apologize on behalf of Sinners&Saints to anyone who may have been expecting to have seen them today (Saturday) at Monsterfest. The band made every attempt to get there.
The band was only confirmed on the fest last week. Since then, I (the band's manager) and the band's agent have many countless attempts to contact the promoter/promoters for any information. After emailing every address on the official site plus others to no avail, I finally resported to posting a request for help on the message board with my email address asking that someone please contact me. The webmaster of the site posted a response this morning (morning of show) and did not email me. I happen to stumble upon the post. I've been trying to get information about load in, gear, etc (stuff that is common and expected for "promoters" to provide bands with) for over a week.
At first the "official" site said the band was playing at 6 or 6:30. Then the site in the past 48 hours switched to saying 4:30. It also said the schedule was set up a half hour early to allow for human error. Which means to me anyway, don't be surprised to go on at 5. After a few delays leaving Boston, the band got on the road and called another band to let someone know they were running late. That band member graciously went over to the promoters to let them know that they were running late and would be there in time to at least be on stage by 5 PM, which means they would be arriving between 4:30 and 4:45. Now keep in mind, we never received any official word on the band's set time anyway. The promoter told our friend that if S&S were not ON STAGE at 4:30 that they were being bumped off the bill entirely. It was explained AGAIN that they would be onstage by 5 and that they had rented a van, etc etc. No dice.
I'd like to thank the promoters for their hospitality, inderstanding and most of all, professionalism.
I'd like to apologize to any kids, friends, the other bands, agents and the fine folks at Bridge 9 that have been inconvenienced by this mix up.
Take care,
Mark Vieira
