Hey y'all,
Well, a tree fell on my 81 L-82 vette. I'm pulling the motor and transmission out and keeping that, but everything else is for sale. I have a new computer with a hypertech chip in it. I am selling the double snorkel air cleaner and connecting hoses. The tree hit the back of the car and cracked the inner fender-well. Ive got fiberglass T-tops that made it through the storm and the IRS. The fiberglass leaf spring in the back snapped, but hang a new spring on it and you'll have a nice posi IRS. My question is this: If I am not mistaken, the L-82 is rated at a weak 250 HP in 1981. If I put a 280 cam, an aluminum hi-rise and a Holley double pumper, don't you think I'm good for at LEAST 275 or 280 horses? Do any of you guys have any tips for squeezing a few horses out of the L-82 pretty inexpensively? Any responses would be greatly appreciated. E-mail me at sande026@bama.ua.edu with any responses or questions about whats for sale.
