Let's see...
If Zihua is 500 miles south, and
San Diego is 1000 miles north,
I would say LM is pretty close to right in the middle of two shark attacks.
Therefore, with some mathematical alacrity, I say "statistics, schmatistics."
However, I duly note that there were probably 1 million plus contacts with the North American coast of the Pacific Ocean yesterday. And there will probably be 999,999 (Mike is staying out of the water) tomorrow. And there were a million contact each of the days of the last eleven years when there were no attacks reported. So the odds seem like they are in the swimmers' favor.
