I was going to post this tomorrow but when Daniel
calls, I (TWD) jump:
June has been hot and very wet:
Total rainfall: 5.35 inches
- the wettest June
since we started keeping track in 2004. The
highest rainfall this month was on the 23rd,
as Andres went by - 1.4 inches.
Average High temp: 85.7F/26.5C
Average Low temp: 79.9F/26.5C
Humidity - Avg. High: 76.5% - Low: 63.7%
It is spectacularly beautiful now, with the hills
already a glossy green - and the road from here to
Melaque has changed from desert to jungle almost
overnight.
If any of you missed Mokita's memory of a hurricane that made a direct hit on La Manzanilla
when he was a child, here's a link to the Unisys
site that shows the track:
http://weather.unisys.com/hurricane/e_pacific
/1971/index.html
The hurricane was Lily and it was in this vicinity
on August 14th and 15th, 1971. If you click on tracking information, you can see the coordinates - so much for L.M. being never having been hit by a hurricane. We are well protected from most storms though.
Haven't heard about the weather anyplace else for
while, so que pasa amigos??
