Hello all! Just browsing the website, and had a question....Where would I find the book "Forebearers and Descendants?" I have been looking online, and cannot find anything. I also have some cool history to let you all know. It isnt directly related to the Landreth family, but still relevant. I have a great great( i dont know how many greats) grandfather who married a woman named Ann lydia Butler I believe. On her side of the family, her ancestors were related to Guy Fawkws who has a national holiday in England I believe. He was involved in what was known as the "Gunpowder Plot" where they tried to assasinate the King, and failed. Now they are viewed as heroes since the King was not well liked. He now has a National Holiday named after him. Another cool thing, about 10-15 years ago, I remember shopping at Wal-Mart, and my father found a picture for sale. It said "One Hundredth year, Landreth's Companion for the garden and Farm"
It has "D. Landreth and sons" (David Landreth) and also says "Philadelphia P.A." I never knew what it was untill Eugene Landreth was kind enough to provide me with information a couple of years ago. I learned of my ancestor David Landreth who opened up what is STILL Americas oldest seed company. It was established in 1784. I asked my father for the picture, and it hangs on my living room wall to this day. Thats a pretty rare thing to find at Wal-Mart huh? Any questions, e-mail me directly at McKeltic420@yahoo.com. Take care everybody!!
