We had a great bunch of games today for our 2008 season kickoff. Despite the cloudy day threatening to release the liquid sunshine, we had 17 players come out to play. Here's a link to the photo album of pics that were taken:

DX also brought his revised Universal WayPoint devices. I think he calls them rev.01. ;-) Anyway, they're MUCH better than before, because now they have sounds instead of hard to see and understand blinky lights. The sounds are unmistakable. When it's captured, you know it. when a capture is blocked, you know it. Everyone really enjoyed the game, which was played using a 2 Team Own the Zone game to make use of the 15 second NEUT period. This provided the ability to an attacking team to neutralize the defending team to enable a base capture. The "score" was determined entirely by the UWP devices. The winning team got first dibs on a box of candy I had purchased.
I'm sure Doug will provide more information about the devices to anyone that asks. These will definitely make an appearance at TagFest and Fort Worden, so anyone coming to either of those events will get a chance to see them in real life. Had I realized the time had flown by, I would have gotten video of that game, but it didn't occur to me. I'll try to get some the next time we play with his cool creations.
