Sounds like you've got things figured out well. I completely agree with your sentiments across the board. Re-doing work isn't that satisfying unless its something thats been away for a long time. Your LASCR needs time to become "legendary" so that its more nostalgic when you return to work on it. I do the same thing with some of my old aircraft model kits. I go back and revamp/repair/redo parts of them as I get tired of seeing my not-so-polished abilities stand out.
Man... a whole decade of the LASCR?!? Thats jaw dropping to know how long that thing has been in use! (thats as long as I've been with LC) What an impressive run for a weapon that has surely inspired others, myself included, to mod their own gear.
Still, we can't deny how kick-ass the Maverick looks! Even if its "just a V2 in a fancy shell", aesthetics do A LOT for me when I'm on the battlefield. When you've got a cool gun, you just get this surge of "Damn... I feel awesome" going through you. I can confirm this feeling, as my Super Cobra is really just a V2 Pistol in a fancy shell, and I tried switching back to a V2 Pistol and I was like "meh... I've been reduced to cannon fodder". It just shows us that aesthetics have a lot of power you can't run from any battery.
