They're popping up all over the Pac-NW area. I've gotten a set at the south Federal Way Wal-Mart, and I just saw FOUR sets at the Puyallup South Hill Wal-Mart.
It would seem that Wal-Mart either got the first shipment, worked out an exclusivity deal with Hasbro (for the first shipment), or is just ignoring a shelf-date that other stores are not ignoring. Unfortunately, those who get them first are paying the early adopter tax of a $10 price hike over MSRP at Wal-Mart. I suspect this is so that they can "Roll back!" the price later, down to actual MSRP, and then during the holiday season, take it down a little more and call it a sale.
Anyway, if you want one now, it would seem you're wasting your time going to any store other than Wal-Mart. I would imagine that the September dates quoted by other outlets are when you can start looking at other stores.
One set at almost $100 after tax is enough for me right now. Besides, the good stuff isn't until a code revision that's likely to be a year off. :\
