Awesome!
I look forward to hearing more about your group.
Of course, I agree with most of your points. The problem is mainly the stigma that "laser tag is for kids" which is perpetuated by pretty much all toy companies, and almost all of the indoor facilities. Most people see painball and airsoft as the "grown up" version of pursuit games, and that laser tag is for kids who are too young or chicken to feel the sting of a paintball or airsoft pellet. As such, laser tag is enjoyed by kids and adults, but not teens. Teens are usually too worried about what other people think about them to risk doing something they like in the face of ridicule.
Even milsim OLT players get grief from painball and airsoft stalwarts, who say "you might as well just play woodsball or airsoft, pussy!"
No amount of discussion about range, anti-cheat, playing anywhere, lower expense, etc. will convert these people. Only those who are already mature enough to make a choice that isn't influenced by peer pressure will make the right choice.
How can we influence generations of people who grew up believing that laser tag is for kids and girly-men and that paintball or airsoft is for big boys and men?
As for getting laser tag into college campuses, it takes leadership. In this case, you were the leader, with lots of gear and an enthusiasm that spread to the other people. Until someone like you takes the reigns at a school, it won't happen. Each school will need their own leader to show the other students who awesome it is.
