Nope. Your TMB does not have that mode. If they're using Team 1 and Team 2, then you couldn't tag them if you tried. For you to join in, you'll all have to be on SOLO (and you on LTAG), or you'll have to have them all join a game that you host.
You should try the hosting. Since they all have LTXs, it shouldn't be hard. just have them line up single file, and join one at a time then go to the side. Once everyone is joined, you can start the countdown and run.
The trickiest part to joining the LTX is waiting for the team select confirmation and final join. What we do is tell players to wait for the SECOND time it says "Team 1" or "Team 2" depending on their choice. Once they hear it again, and the LTX stops scanning for a game, they can pull the trigger to join. Wait for the "ka-ching!" from both host and player before moving to the next player. Of course, maintain aim with the dome the whole time. Sometimes I'll even grab the barrel of the player's LTX and hold it to the front of my tagger to maintain communication. It's really not all that hard.
Aiming is not required to get the countdown once it starts, but they DO need to aim at the dome at the end of the game to debrief.
It might seem like a hassle, but once they get a taste for more complex games (like Survival, or Kings, etc) and the personal and team ranks after the game, they won't mind the hosting process at all.
