Awhile back I designed my first custom vest based off the system that Mike Yates uses. I based mine off of a Black Universal Shoulder Holster (USH) and a V2 Vest. It has worked quite well but as my setup has changed, so have my demands and ideas. I've allowed that vest, the CVP-01 (Custom Vest Project 1)to be used by other players now as I move on to the next vest: the CVP-03. Logically, I should be on #2, but I tried that awhile ago and it still isn't really working. So instead of reusing that number, I'm going with 3 to start fresh. CVP-03 as is Right now, the CVP-03 looks a lot like the original -01 only instead of a black USH, it uses a MARPAT USH since I've switched camo from night digi camo to the new Woodland MARPAT that Marines use. However, there are changes both for the USH and the V2 vest I use planned for this. I plan on making the front sensor easier to hit by using what was the hit light (the big red light in the middle of the vest) into a dome-style sensor. I'll be using the same kind of construction you see on MILES Tag sensors for this, but I haven't gotten the parts in yet. I've managed to mount my two flashlights (Flood and spotlight) as well as my sidearm. But something new for the CVP-03 is a mounted LED light on the vest itself. Something I've always wanted to do. It attaches via a velcro strip I added to the left side strap on the vest. It's got a nice big power button to activate this LED light to quickly illuminate the space in front of me. This would be good for searches, as a signal to teammates, and just general "Oh shit, I dropped my radio in the dark" kinda stuff. Here's pictures of this stuff.
