I proceeded to make the sensor upgrade with a TSOP48XX to the Front vest. Here's what I did.
The mount I'll use for the new sensor and light. It was the backing for the speaker and hit light.
The parts being removed. Old Hit Light and Original Sensor.
New sensor and Red LED Hit Light mounted and installed on the vest.
The old red V2 hit light cover and the new clear dome.
New Clear Dome covering the new sensor and hit light.

Overall
I've tested this thing both indoors and outdoors up against a normal unmodified V2 Vest and the sensor coverage for the front is greatly improved. The V2 Vest I tested it up against was my old CVP-01, which would represent the problem I am attempting to fix. The new sensor array on the CVP-03 has a much greater coverage all around. This is especially important since my new weapon of choice, the Scope Rifle II makes the unmodified V2 Vest in that position much harder to hit. To sum it all up, I'm easier to hit which makes gameplay that much more fair. I've always been a fan of making great new gear, but It takes the fun out of things when it's not fair for other players. This sensor upgrade is just one of the ways I cater to my opponents needs.
