Mounting a smaller lens inside this isn't impossible... but the whole reason I wanted to use a Firefly REV-8 Nerf Gun was because the barrel section is so big. I think it'd be better to go with a different Nerf Gun Shell if you had a smaller lens.
However, if you've found that the lens you have is still too big to realistically be used on the other types of guns out there, the FireFly can still accomodate this.
In this picture notice the orange piece just to the right of the trigger. That piece used to be much taller and held the Revolving magazine of the FireFly in place. I've cut it down and used it as a mounting point for the Firestorm lens. I'm sure regardless of the size, this orange piece could do the same for yours. You probably wouldn't have to shave it down as far as mine even.
