Considering we had some low 70's temps during the previous weeks, that Sunday was in the mid 80's and the sun was strong. Luckily the bugs weren't out although I ended up going through at least two cobwebs between trees.
With regard to the LTX, considering this was the first time I actually used it, I liked it. Personally I like the BIG BLASTER look, although it tends to be front heavy. Also it is a bit uncomfortable to use if you want to get close to the scope. Since my up-close eyesight is going it is difficult for me to use the iron sights and if I get too close to a regular dot scope, I can't focus on the cross-hairs. Therefor I need to hold the tagger out a bit, which makes it difficult to use the shot-blast in it's current format.
Truth be told, I like the original Deluxe with a rumble pack. It allows for an almost continuous burst of 10 shots before reload or overhead. It has the max blast which I believe does the equivalent damage of the LTX shot-blast and is easier to hold. Now I could be mistaken by somethings as I am not a regular user, even though I own them.
I will admit that I do like the pump action of the shot-blast on the LTX. You get a thrill when you are in close quarters with an opponent and you pump, shoot, pump and shoot blast after blast. Although there is a bit of lag time (like a real shot gun), once you have the timing you can lay down some serious damage.
Also in one game, I could only use one hand so the reload mechanism of the LTX was great. Flick the reload level, slam the clip back in against your body, keep on firing.
I really hope that Hasbro does come out soon with attachments although I am not holding my breath. With the current LTX being marketed now under the NERF banner, the stripped down version should garner more sales, and the stripped down version could be a prelude to selling the attachments separately as power-ups.
Well a man can dream now, can't he!?!
