With regard to the inactivity of the board lately, unfortunately you are correct. Considering the weather has been great in so many places, it makes you wonder if anyone is still playing, or modding, or whatever. Then again, I shouldn't talk - personal and work related issues have not allowed me the time to recruit new blood and put together a good game (although I had a great time not too many weeks ago).
With regard to the Longshot as modding material, I personally have liked it's look. It can serve as a close quarter weapon or long range depending on it's configuration. I know of two small indie film groups that do a lot of sci-fi and sci-fantasy movies and the Longshot is their primary weapon prop (besides a converted TMB).
Changing it's look - in my humble opinion I like the way it looks now. Now what it can do, is a different thing entirely.
