Before I detail this, I just want people to know what they might not.
The Mod was supposed to make a LTTO TMB shoot a usable "LC" signal by cutting a single wire in the TMB. The OLCA learned of this mod from another group and did it on a TMB that one of my friends owned. It stopped the dome of the LTTO TMB from transmitting the Beacon signal which, apparently, set off hits on Laser Challenge Vests. It was thought that by cutting this wire, the gun's shooting would be converted to fire a Laser Challenge-recognizable hit signal.
In an effort to learn about how the mystical TMB Mod worked, I had to ask a few key people. And now that we've been exploring this new LTX project, I've had to look back to the TMB Mod. We have since learned that the mod does not change anything but stop the beacon signal and that the LTTO TMB has been firing a Hit signal for LC all along.
The only strange exception is that the LTTO or LTX can still not land hits on Radar Extreme vests. That's our issue. That's a problem I wish to fix somehow.
So, in short: the TMB Mod didn't do what we thought it did. All it does is stop the beacon. I'm sorry for making so many die-hard LTTO-ers brains explode from trying to figure out how it worked the way we said it does.
