We've found that the LTTO and LTX tend to have a better range against a Laser Challenge vest than they get against another compatible gun. Also the LTX works with V2 gear without any modifications.
Based on analysis with and IR camera, and from what I've heard from OLCA members that have used the LTX, these guns have a tighter beam than V2 pistols and require the user to be more accurate at short range. The LTX does have a 'shotgun mode' That will still generate a single hit on a LC vest, but uses two unfocused LED's for a short range broad attack.
