As mentioned in the above post, it would be nice to add another structure or two to the Village -- preferably one with a strong roof that can be accessed from inside the structure and used in a prone position.
As Dave has mentioned, clearing trails and opening up the second mini-Village behind the speedball field would be nice. It would make a good alternate flag base, or third flag base.
There are a couple of nasty rocks on the front trail from the Village to the Fort, as my knee can attest. We need to bring up a sledgehammer and beat these down, or shovels and pry-bars to dig them out and move them to one of the rock walls.
We need to repair the referee tower in the speedball field and add a permanent ladder with handrails to the upper level.
We should add some proper steps up to the catwalks in the fort.
We should consider reinforcing the floor and sidewalls of the referee tower on Assault Hill -- it will be good for another couple of years I think, but eventually rot will set in. It wasn't really designed to have active players in it so I'm not sure the walls would support someone if they fell against one.
As discussed in chat tonight, we need a proper map of the area showing trails so people can plan strategy even though they haven't played there before, and so they won't get lost (which was not a problem this time but if we use more of the area, it might be).
We should try to rebuild the frameworks that were designed to support camouflage netting over the dug-in positions near Assault Hill, and try to find new nets for them. Perhaps a new one or two overlooking the village would be nice too.
There are a number of semi-flattened brush piles around the periphery of the Village which should be gathered up into more vertical piles, so that people will be less likely to trip or get their legs/ankles caught between branches if they try to use these piles for cover.
The deer trails between Assault Hill and the Fort should probably be cleaned up a tad so it is more obvious which way to go -- they have become pretty badly overgrown. They are still usable right now, but another season or two of growth and they might become unrecognizable. I'm also a tad concerned about eye safety for people using them.
Just some thoughts...
