Those were a very short-lived Laser Challenge product, the LC Electronic Robo Attack. It came with a new variant of the Shoot-Back BART droid. The sensor is a tiny thing about the size of a key fob that clips to your sleeve, shirt pocket, or collar.

I believe it may also have been sold as a player-versus-player set without a BART under a different name, which would account for the change in colors. JP loves to re-use molds in the LC line.
I ultimately bought 3 of these Robo Attack sets brand new at retail and never got a one of them to work right -- QA was horrid on them. One had a power switch that didn't work, one had a bad wire in the tether to the sensor, and one the robot did not seem to react to any signals from the gun. Maybe if I had kept the first 2 instead of returning them, I could have cobbled the three together into one that worked and I could properly review the set...
Thanks for reminding me of them, need to photograph the one set I still have and add it to the Virtual Museum.
