I've found that while the parks that we play at offer different settings that don't work for "One" camouflage type, that there's a type that works for where I like to hide. I'm a deep woods kinda guy. Hiding in tall grass or lighter-colored stuff just isn't a place I normally go, so I dress for where I want to put myself in matches. Every place we go to has these kinds of woodland areas.
Mission Park West, our home, has some great woodland spots to make use of. However, that woodland place turns it's back on you in the winter time. I feel like the MARPAT does a bit of a better job of blending in with both greeneries and earth because of the high concentration of brown and tan seen in the design. Still, you get light enough in the wintertime, it's pretty much impossible to stay hidden.
For those exploring Camo types that are available, the most versatile ones I've seen have been the MARPAT and MultiCam. But again, it all depends on where you play. But for most outdoor laser taggers, I think something suited for the woods of some kind is best. I don't know of too many who play in a wide-open desert setting!
Anyways, while it has been quite the journey of "figuring this all out on my own", and a bit pricey considering how much I've spent trying to get to where I am now, it's been fun and definetly worked for me.
