'Zook brought up a good point that I would like to start it's own thread in a hope to brainstorm.
Zook said - "I remember over the summer I was complaining about a lack of participation on the board overall. We had said that it was just "peak Laser Tag season" which prevented people from going online to check up on things and that during the off season when people need their Laser Tag fix that the board would be more active. We're well into fall now and I haven't seen much more activity than before. I also can't recall seeing any new faces show up and stick around, so retention seems to be an issue with newer members.
While our 'old school' members are obviously getting busier/unable to check in as frequently as they once did, I see fewer new faces taking their place as far as activity goes. I've always seen the LTAG board as a representation of the health of thi sport and if I were to make a guess, I'd say that laser tag isn't as strong as it once was.
I'm not saying the forum's layout is a hinderance to this though, as we recently updated the graphics nicely and if anything, a less-complicated board is more attractive to someone who's never used a forum before. But perhaps it is a factor? We won't really know until we get some feedback from newer members. So maybe the key to solving this forum software thing is to test the new generation of taggers that are out there. We can advertise and promote the board, get new faces posting, and then come back to this issue with fresh faces, and see if it's holding us back.
LTAG is a great resource and frequented by my laser tag heroes, which keeps me coming back and eager to share what I'm doing to get input from the masters of this sport. I think other diehard laser taggers could latch onto this place as I have if we just let them know we're here.
