Truth be told, I only look for the hit sounds from the people that I am targeting. This may sound more like a discussion on small group tactics, than a mod. Team mates should know where their other team mates are, at all times, without actively looking for them. By taking their eyes off the field around them, while they are looking for their team mates, they will miss likely targets and become targets themselves.
If your team mates are waiting for the sensor alarm sound to indicate that one of their own took a hit, human nature is going to force them to look to see who got hit. Face it, the sensors all sound alike. However, if the sensor alarm is low key and you've taken a hit, by you announcing it to your teammates, they recognize your voice, should know where you are and take the appropriate steps (protect and attack).
After I started playing LT many (many) years ago, I learned to play a silent game. If you saw a target you tried to take it out yourself, if you got hit, you took cover until you could take a shot and if you got tagged out, you silently walked off the field. It wasn't until I played with the Seattle LT Club back in 2001, that I came in contact with players that announced (loudly) what they were doing. If they spotted an enemy, sometimes even before they took a shot, you would hear them yell out "CONTACT". This usually made the target get up and run, because he/she knew that they were spotted, and it caused both teams to converge on that point. Made an interesting fire fight!
Personally, worry only about a hit indicator for yourself. Your last game is a good example of this.
