Yeah, the Airsoft group I play with has a 20ft "Safety Kill" radius they play by. The OLCA adopted the Tap Out rule in our second season thanks to OLCA Member "Panzer". There have been several players in the OLCA who have made notable use of the Tap Out once or twice, but the record of tap outs in one game was recently broken by Adam Wisniewski, with an unprecidented 11 tap outs. During a Zombies game, he found the undead to be perfect targets for tap-outs due to the bewildered and carefree nature of them. It's been a fun rule to use and has been especially handy to keep our game at a distance. However there are still those few instances when folks just wanna impale their opponent with their weapon, apparently...
The main thing that makes the Tap Out Rule tricky is that you have to sneak up on them. They can't be aware of your presence. If they catch you, even if you're just about to nab 'em, it's a no go.
