Fight Night 7
Game Time: 7:30pm
Game 1: CTF
Team Captains: FirestormCamo & Eleri at'Xalien
Sundawg took pictures for this one. It was a tough game, with both sides having their momemts. I started on the Flag Defense team and we set up a few of us on the Flank overlooking the Western Walk with the rest of our team scattered around the Flag which was under the Fort. I went with the Western Walk team but heard lots of commotion over on the eastern side so I went back to check things out. Our Flag was okay, but our defense was in shambles. They were either standing in plain sight or standing so close together that one shot would likely hit both of them. We were holding up well surprisingly until they wore our forces down. While we sent a lot of players to respawn, the capture team took their chances and moved the Flag a little before they were stopped again. This happened repeated times, and sometimes the Capture team would only manage to move the flag a couple feet at a time. However, they wore down our defenses time and time again, getting our defense players tired from running back and forth between the respawn point and the Flag. The Defense Team's real shining moment was when they got our defense caught up in fighting other players while Erik swooped in and grabbed the Flag and made a break for it. A few of our players got him a ways down the park, but he was far enough in Capture Team controlled territory that someone else just picked it up and ran it in for him. With only 3 minutes left to play, both sides put up a good fight!
Game 2: Team Elimination
Team Captains: Sundawg and SolidSnake
I took pictures for this round. I can't really say that much for this game, as the action was spread out and the game just seemed to linger for awhile. There were only a few players left on either team for a good 10 minutes left in the game and they fought it out with the rest of the deadpool being confused as to who was still out there. I think we need some tweaking of how we handle Team Elimination games to keep track of who's left out there. I don't even remember who won!
Game 3: Disarm Andy
Team Captains: Ninja Haro and Bazookafied
Brad and I were captains, with me leading the Disarm Team. As we plotted our gameplan, I ran up to my car and grabbed some radios for us. I had 5 that we could use and handed them out. Myself and Tanner had radios on the Western side and 2 other guys on the Eastern side had them. John had the 5th one and he sat behind in the middle to kind of oversee how things were going and assist as needed. Tanner, myself, and 3 others moved swiftly across the slipzone into Defense Territory. Tanner and 2 guys that went with him started getting hit whilst advancing over the Flank. The other guy and I decided to take a seemingly unguarded route over the Bridge of Death. We didn't see anyone crossing it, which seemed strange to me. After crossing the BoD, we located "Andy", sitting right behind the Fort. From my vantage point, I couldn't see anyone around it, so I told everyone of it's location in case I failed to reach it and made a run for it. As I got closer, I noticed a large number of players hiding underneath the Fort, apparently waiting for our Disarm Team to advance over the bridge. None of them really had a great shot on me until they moved out from underneath it. I still had time and ran up to the Bomb. Apparently, I ran a little TOO much, and set off Andy just by stopping abruptly on the concrete next to it. Talk about SENSITIVE! So the Disarm Team lost, handing the win over to the Defense Team.
Game 4: Disarm Andy
Team Captains: none
With that last Disarm Andy game lasting only about 10 minutes, we decided to just switch sides and do the same game. Now my team was on the Defense and we placed Andy at the edge of the BoD and set up a good defense on both sides to protect it. I handed out radios again, with 2 on each side of our defense and one with me overlooking Andy and overseeing our defensive pattern, keeping everyone in the loop. The Disarm Team came in strong on the Western Walk at first. Our Defense was holding it's own quite well. As the Disarm Team started to bleed into the middle for cover, Sundawg laid down some nice cover fire with his RE-CON Mk III. It wasn't long until he had to fall back from being too exposed. Then our Easter Side got hit with some runners, which the Eastern Defense and our backup around Andy managed to take down. The Western Walk continued to have problems, so I ordered them to finally fall back and prepare for our last stand around Andy to Defend him to the end. The Disarm Team was making good progress against our weakening Defense, so I switched from command mode to Search and Destroy. Erik and I went up on the Flank and pursued some scattered Disarm Team players. Amongst their ranks was Eleri at'Xalien, whom I tried to pin down. I got him a few times, but thanks to the angle and his gun lowered, I couldn't land many more hits on him. He slowly advanced north on the Flank towards the cliff and Erik and I attacked him, eventually taking him out. Then we ran into SolidSnake, who was very VERY confused. I put 2 Max Blasts into his sensor and ran off to defend Andy a little longer. One of the Disarm Team players, Jake, managed to run across the BoD and reach Andy. There were a lot of us there and we were shooting the crap out of him. As he hovered over Andy to Disarm it, his 9th Hit Siren went off. Our rules for this game state that if you're on your 9th' hit Siren (a few seconds of Invulnerability), you can't attempt a Disarm. He remained over Andy until his siren was up, but his hands weren't stead enough and he set it off. With an unsuccessful Disarm, the Defense Team won again! Part of the confusion on the Disarm Team was that they didn't know where Andy was. In previous games, Andy is always set behind the Fort on the concrete path. We set him in a different spot, which were rules from a more recent version of this game. We probably should've been more clear with the rules, but either way, our Defense's attempts were crumbling. It all came down to that unsuccessful Disarm.
Pictures coming soon!!
