Our Team ID system is new (and the first time we've implemented something like it). My thoughts on the matter (currently) are as such:
With our park's new closing time at 10pm instead of 11, we have less time in full darkness, so more of our games happen at dusk when you can still see colors and such. If we were to use a Team ID system that would allow you to be able to tell what team they were on at night, it would likely kill the stealth element that the OLCA has been known for. It at least makes things easier in the daytime to know who to shoot.
Our games worked very well last night and the only times I recall there being exchanges of friendly fire was when the players were fighting too close to be able to only hit the other guy (that was my situation at least). Everything else seemed to work well.
That and the fact that I've been bringing radios for my team more often. The intel has helped plans come together much better.
