I had the opportunity to play a game once with these and I liked the concept. The addition of the wrist strap was pretty clever because more than once I saw an opponent take a hit and literally throw the tagger in reponse.
I remember my hand and arm feeling really tired after a game and I was only hit 3 times (I seem to remember that it could take 6 hits, but I could be mistaken. The electrical shocks could have rattled my brains).
