The picture shows how I made my external receiver modules. I have 2 already and they are extremely sturdy as they've been though almost an year of intense combat and no problem at all.
1. Cut the sensor dome from LTX
2. Connect the 5 pin cable to an Ethernet RJ-45 cable (Cat 5)
3. Mount the entire thing on a weaver sniper scope holder lower receiver
4. Use epoxy putty to protect the circuit and provide structural integrity
5. Paint it!
Note this is not at all water-proof but is shock proof since the major components are now glued together by epoxy putty (which is hard as rock!)
So all I need are the details of those wires so I can use the LTX dome as a great IR detector with nice protection and built-in hit light!
