Has it always been mean, or did this behavior just start? Sometimes when a dog is hurting, it will bite out of pain or fear. If this is not the case and the dog is always mean, it is probably miserable, and may need to be put out of its misery. Just remember that as much as you may want to keep the dog alive, it may be kinder for the dog to let it go. Also, the last thing you want to do is give an aggressive dog to someone else as a guard dog. You never know who the dog might attack. It may hurt a child or an elderly person. I am sorry to say this, but if your dog is aggressive towards people, it may be the best thing for it to be humanely euthanized. Let me explain why. Obviously, certain dogs are nice and others are not. It has a lot to do with how they are raised, but can also depend on the dog's parents as well.
