I heard that sometimes aggressive dogs need a little valium....every day, but you'd have to talk to your vet about that. It has helped many a dog.

: : I'm just going to copy and paste the e-mail
: I wrote to the dog obediance school:
:
:
: Hello, my name is Nicole aka Lili the overly
: aggressive Akita's mom.
: I'm having a very, very hard time right now.
:
: We just went for a walk. For the first 40
: minutes she was doing fine.
: She was pulling a little, but all in all it
: was ok.
:
: Then on our way home the clip on her leash
: came off. She ran to an
: unleashed dog a few house away and started
: attacking it. She dog was
: old and could barely fight back. This went
: on for 15-20 seconds before
: I could get a hold of her. The owner of the
: other dog started punching
: Lili, I slapped him, and he closed fist
: punched me in the jaw. Very
: dramatic, I know. I slurry of swears ensued
: and I eventually walked
: away.
:
:
: The situation with Lili is getting out of
: hand. I desperatley need to
: know if and/or how her behavious can be
: modified to where I don't have
: to dread having her around other dogs. I
: live in a very dog friendly
: neighborhood so they're everywhere. It's not
: possible to just avoid
: other dogs. Is there someone who can work
: with her that you know of
: who has dealt with this before?
:
: She wasn't always this way, but since her
: experiances at the dog park,
: she's become a completley different dog. We
: stopped going to the dog
: park hoping this behavior might cease and
: she'd go back to being the
: happy go lucky dog she used to be.
:
: Please please please help me. The situation
: is beyond me and I can
: not live with a dog as that is as dog
: aggressive as she is in this
: neighborhood.
:
: Thanks in advance,
: Nicole

:
: Alright. Lili used to get humped at the dog
: park a lot. She started instigating fights
: after a few months which I think was a
: direct result of the humping. Around this
: time she started getting very leash
: aggressive. I regret taking her to the dog
: park more than anything in the world so I
: don't need any tounge lashings about that.
: All I want to know is how to get my old dog
: back. She's never been aggressive towards a
: human(except when one of my friends snuck
: into my backyard at midnight) and she's not
: aggressive with cats or any other animal. I
: just don't want it escalating and I want
: this wieght lifted off my shoulders. I think
: she would be so much happier without her
: agression.
