Posted by Tess My name is Tess and I am a 1 year old spayed Shepherd/Husky mix. I've had a rough life. My doggie-mom ran around and got knocked up. Her owners decided they didn't want puppies, and they dumped us on the highway! We were rescued by a very nice couple who fed us and cleaned us up, but couldn't keep us. One by one, my siblings were adopted. Finally one day I got to go home, too. My new mommy and daddy treated my fleas, ticks, mange, and hookworms. They fed me and loved me and raised me. They even took me to doggy school so I could learn how to be a dog. There was only one problem... I love everything and want to jump and play! My new family had cats that did NOT like me. They tease me and hiss at me, and provoke me to jump on them, and then I get in trouble. Mom said that "these things take time" and spent months and months letting us adjust slowly. She thought that cuz I was a puppy, I could learn to leave the cats alone. But I just CAN'T. She tried all these things that the trainers told her, but she said she wouldn't put a shock collar on me. I don't know what that is, but it sounds scary. Mom was real sad and said that I might have to go away to a new home. But I didn't want to leave! Then one day I jumped on the old cat. She deserved it, she was making faces at me! I didn't mean to hurt her, but I guess my paws are bigger than I realize. I don't like that old cat because she always teases me, but I didn't mean to hurt her. Mom decided I just wasn't safe around the cats, and that I needed to be in a home without them. I guess I'd be happier without cats around, but I sure will miss my mom. Do you know anybody who's looking for a dog? I promise I'll be a good dog. I know all about pooping outside, and gaurding the house, and playing fetch, and riding in the car. I know how to look sad and how to nuzzle you with my nose so I look cute. I know not to spill my water even though I love to swim. I know how to play nice with other doggies who are big (55 lbs) like me! Isn't there anybody who would take me home?
