Dear LLRC members.
We have received the form from the National Model Railroad Association that we need to complete and send back to be certified as a 100 percent NMRA club. If you have joined NMRA, please send your name and NMRA number to me (e-mail acceptable). If you haven't joined NMRA and plan to, do so by Aug. 1 if possible, and get the number to me by Aug. 15 For more information on NMRA, see its Web site at www.nmra.org You can join on-line and it will likely be faster to do it that way. An associate membership is $17 (you do not get the monthly magazine.) Membership with the monthly magazine (the Bulletin) is $34.
We are becoming a 100 percent NMRA club in order to secure coverage under NMRA's policy for our Oct. 13 model railroad meet. Our by-laws have been changed to require that full LLRC members must also be NMRA members. Dues for LLRC will continue at $12. We realize this is means members could be paying $29 per year ($12 LLRC and $17 NMRA), but the active membership voted this spring that this was the best way to go instead of paying $400-$500 a year for insurance. We can get NMRA insurance for about $50.
