I would try to glue it only because nails will transmit some sound down to the wood and perhaps amplify it somewhat.
As for directions, I'm not sure if signs will be up as the guy in charge of them in years past may not be able to attend this year. But if you are coming into Hutchinson from the south on Hwy. 15, go past Target and Wal-Mart and turn left at McDonalds (Century Ave.). Go west about three blocks to the fairgrounds. It is essentially behind the newly expanded Wal-Mart. Look forward to meeting you there. I'll have a small N-scale layout there, the CM&E. Our club, the host Luce Line RR Club Inc., will have a large HO, a three-rail Lionel and an American Flyer layout.
