Eric:
Thanks for the information. My wife and I really enjoyed taking our N scale layout to your Nov. 2002 show. I never realized the Sioux Falls area was should a hotbox of model railroaders. It was a great show. I hope the Yankton group's show is going okay today (March 8-9, 2003). I wanted to get down there, but we have a lot of events planned for the next two months so we figured we better stay home at least one weekend. Besides, we got six inches of snow overnight here and travel would not be fun.
The Prairie Lakes Division of NMRA (just to the east of you in Sioux Falls) is planning an unique spring model railroad meet at Spirit Lake, Iowa on April 26. They will ride a special excursion train over the former Rock Island line from Spirit Lake west to Ocheyedan. The four-hour ride is $25, plus a $3 meet fee and $6.50 if you want a lunch on the train. The meet begins at 9 a.m. at the Spirit Lake Expo Center on the west side of town. The train departs at 11 a.m. from about a block away. Check out the Thousand Lakes Region web site's timetable listing for more information: www.thousandlakesregion.org. Have fun.
