To be a 'bit apprehensive' is a sign of intelligence. Not to attempt it would a manifestation of profound wisdom (unless you are of the calbre of Chichester, Shane Acton,Tristan Jones).
My only qualification in offering my views is that I was rash enough to take a Princess 32 TSDY across the Channel and through the French canals then down the Med to Spain. The event had pleasurable periods but was punctuated my moments of utter terror; I cannot now remember the pleasurable bits in any detail, but ask me about the others! Some say it made a man of me; but I put that down to having faced imminent death several times!
