I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this (link below). I had three people phone me to let me know about it. I took the photo on the first day either of us had sailed before.
This race is huge in France, there were 300.000 people to see them off. They've really taken Steve to their hearts as the arcititle mad englishman, ie: taught himself to sail and made it to the start against all odds. It was 12 years ago and not 14 as it happens. Why it doesn't get more coverage here mystifies me.
