It was a foolish idea to award three franchises here in the first place (especially two that are less than 10 minutes apart). Yes, the Majors-Dogs rivalry is lost but this will only intensify the Majors-Battalion rivalry which now absorbs the Battalion-Dogs rivalry. Something had to give and while this might not have been the ideal solution for all, it's the most viable one.

Well, I'm one who made the public transit voyage to Missy and Brampton a few times and yes, I would go to less games with it being farther away. That being said, I don't think we have "lost" a team in the same sense that North Bay, Cornwall or Montreal have lost their major junior teams in recent years. As much as the environmentalist in me hates to say it, the OHL is a "car" league. Just look at the parking lot at gametime at St. Mike's - even with virtually zero parking and optimal public transit access, everyone still drove to the games. The public transit crowd was a slim, slim minority of what was a small crowd at SMC. Playing at the Hershey will increase attendance simply because that's the sort of crowd that attends junior hockey games.
