Posted by Leo Nordine Zippifish in near-new condition shaped by Michael Zippi, glassed at Shoreline in Hermosa. 5’11” x 17 x 21 3/4 x 17 1/8 x 2 11/16. Flat rocker, boxy rails. Weighs 11 lbs. I’ve ridden a ton of fish, and I think Michaels’ are the best. Fast and drivey but smooth and predictable. The KG’s and some of the others I rode with pinched rails were erratic and dug rails. These are a lot more forgiving and user friendly. I get mine slightly narrower than his stock one, but it’s still huge. These also work in bigger surf. I rode a 5’9” last winter at a double overhead reef. I had a resin loop added to the tail (just behind the tail pad). There’s also a leash plug under the pad. These are glassed strong – there’s no deck pressures, just a tiny ding in both corners of the swallows, one which was fixed. $400 Buy Now, $400 reserve.
